In 2023, cameras will need to be installed on new airplanes, and starting from 2025 – on those already in operation.
According to the resolution, cameras on airplanes must provide “video detection of surveillance objects in the vehicle cabin and on access paths to the cabin.” However, the resolution does not require real-time data transmission.
The requirement from 2023 will be mandatory for new airplanes entering the carrier’s fleet. For already in use airplanes, the requirement becomes mandatory two years later, from 2025.
