Video surveillance is installed to monitor the territory, record events and ensure the safety of the facility. The system must cover key areas: entrances and exits, perimeters, cash registers, warehouses, corridors, and high-risk locations.
Before installation, the location of the cameras is determined based on the actual tasks. Cameras are not placed “for show” — it is important to cover all areas without blind spots. It takes into account the lighting, the presence of oncoming light, the distance to the objects and the need for night shooting. Cameras with protection from moisture and dust are used outdoors, and compact interior models are used inside.
The cable is laid in compliance with the following standards: without tension, with protection from damage, using cable channels or corrugations. If necessary, PoE power is used to simplify the connection. All connections are made carefully, without twists and “temporary” solutions — this directly affects the stability of the work.
The equipment is tailored to the task: IP or analog cameras, a DVR with the required number of channels, and a hard disk for storing the archive. It is important to calculate the recording volume and storage period in advance so that there are no situations when the desired video has already been deleted.
After installation, settings are made: image quality, motion detection zones, recording schedule, remote access via phone or computer. The operation of all cameras is checked, as well as the correctness of recording and playback of the archive.
Common mistakes include incorrect installation angle, frame illumination, savings on cable and power supplies, and lack of backup power. Such defects lead to image loss or complete system malfunction.
Well-executed installation ensures stable operation of video surveillance without constant interference. The system should work around the clock, save the archive and provide a clear picture at the right moment.
