An autonomous fire system (APS) – is an independent fire protection system designed to detect a fire and extinguish it automatically without the need to connect to a centralized control system or human intervention. Such systems include smoke, fire or heat detectors, automatic extinguishing agents (e.g. gas, powder or aerosol fire extinguishers) and warning devices. APS operate on autonomous power sources and are designed to ensure fire safety in various rooms, especially where it is not possible to install a comprehensive fire alarm system.
